Another web site, justdeleteme.com helps with this also. This site also provides their opinion on the level of difficulty involved.
My favorite site for this is accountkiller.com. They also have an Interesting add-on called SiteCheck for your browser which will check a site before you signup to let you know if it is easy to delete your account. For example, if you go to www.about.com and use their SiteCheck, you’ll find that once you sign up you can’t remove your account. BTY, not all sites have been recognized.
